Pros: | Size, Cost, flexibility and weight |
Cons: | Could use a few tweaks, adjustable straps, a few extra ways to attach gear. |
I picked this pack up from a local store mostly due to the price and the need of a bag this size. I originally expected it to last only one trip...that was two years ago and about 4 hunting trips, around 15 mountains and close to 80 miles ago. The pack still looks new and I am impressed with it. So much so that I am thinking about picking up a second one. With that all being said there are a couple of things I would change, another reason I am looking for another....to modify. The shoulder straps are of decent quality and a have some good padding. My issue is they are a tad too close to one another which causes the straps to rub my neck. My neck is a 16 1/2 not fat but not a tad pole either. LOL. Not an issue all the time but it can get to be a tad annoying. Maybe make them adjustable somehow. The waist best is good but I would love to see some pockets on it near the clasp. For me it would be nice to put a couple of easy to get too items there. Lastly it would be nice if there was a way to mount a sleeping bag to it. I have jerry rigged a few different options but an addition pair of straps should could be handy. Overall I would not hesitate to get another bag like this. A few of my hunting and outdoor friends have actually picked them up due to trying mine out. None of us are easy on our gear, I am not saying we try to destroy it but we are not gentle either.
